Student Check-In
Migrate
Bring your students over from a spreadsheet or the system you use now.
1. Format your list
Use an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) or a CSV file. Put headings in the first row and one student on each row below. The columns are the same details you fill in when you enrol a student, in the same order — only the name is required, and any other columns in your file are ignored.
| Column heading | What to put | Example | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full name | required | The student’s name. | Alex Example |
| Type | optional | Your grade or level. New ones are added to your list. | Main Classroom |
| Your own reference | optional | The ID from your current list, if you have one. | A-1001 |
| Parent or guardian | optional | Who to contact. | Sam Example |
| Guardian email | optional | One email address. Parents are notified here. | sam@example.com |
| Guardian phone | optional | Any format. | (555) 123-4567 |
| Days | optional | The days they attend: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun. | Mon, Wed, Fri |
| Start time | optional | When their session starts. Give both times or neither. | 15:30 |
| End time | optional | When it ends — after the start. | 16:30 |
Prefer separate columns for a student’s name? “First name” and “Last name” work too. Other headings such as Grade, Level, Parent, Email or Phone are recognised as well.
2. Upload it
Choose your spreadsheet or CSV, or copy the rows from your spreadsheet (headings included) and paste them in. We will show you what we found before anything is added.
3. What happens next
You see how many students we found, which columns we matched, and anything we could not read. Each student you import gets a student ID and a QR badge, ready to print from Badges. Anyone already on your roster is skipped, not changed, so it is safe to run the same list twice.
